Walloon Village, Michigan
Most curious.
This is a picture of The Ugly Truck (aka The Freighter Jimmy Conastoga) parked outside what will soon be a museum dedicated to two wheeled transportation. The owner was not around at the time for comment. This place is located near the corner of US131 and M-75 in Walloon Village, Mi. Some of the inhabitants of this charming lake community might take offense to this place, but I think it's great. The world needs more weird destinations. Heck, the world IS a weird destination!
You don't need a skeleton to know which way the wind blows.
This is a close up of the "weathervane". It's a full size antique bike with a full size human skeleton attached. I'm pretty sure the bones are fake... Pretty sure.

Please don't eat the caps.
There are some excellent places near Walloon to hunt the illusive morel mushroom, pictured at the right. These beauties were actually growing in my yard under a fir tree. Usually one would find them in hardwoods where there is indirect sunlight, trilliums, leaks and tiger lilies growing. Late April and May is the time to look. The true morels are hollow and false morels are built like an umbrella-stem and cap. Stay away from the caps, some folks have gotten mighty sick from them, but the true morel is a delicate treat you won't soon forget. Good eating, buds!
